RUN FOR THE BOARD ~
Nominations Due Friday, May 2, 2008

This a wonderful opportunity to right the wrongs of the current board. Keep watching for more candidate information and endorsements.

The Nomination Process
The board asks that you consider and recommend individuals -- or yourself -- with the competence and vision to provide skilled leadership for the Academy. Any member of Eagle Ridge Academy may make a nomination. Members include parents, school staff and current board members. A nominee may be any ERA teacher or parent but may also include non-member community experts. Duplicate the form below if you want to nominate several people. Nominations are due on or before May 2, 2008.

Current Board Structure
There are nine seats on our board. The current board membership includes a mix of parents, teachers, and a community expert, with a variety of professional backgrounds and competencies. Five seats are occupied by ERA teachers, three by ERA parents, and one by a community expert.

Nomination Considerations
In this election, we are looking to fill five out of nine board seats. These seats are currently held by Len Twetan, Karilyn Jons, Jim Romportl, Sonja Menard, and Robbie Oeltjenbruns. Two of these open seats must be filled by licensed teachers of ERA in accordance with Minnesota Statute 124D.10 subdivision 4(c) which states that a majority of the Board of Directors shall, after the school completes its third year of operation, consist of teachers providing instruction under contract with the school.

Submitting Nominations
Once you have completed the nomination form and contacted your nominee, please mail, fax, email, or drop off the form in the school office. The deadline for submitting nominations is May 2, 2008.
